Find Your Fit
Step 1 - Measure Your Body
Using a tape measure and wearing fitted clothing or underwear, keep the measuring tape as level as possible and stand with arms down and legs comfortably together. We recommend having a friend help you.
For the most accurate result, measure your chest, waist and hips to find your Patience Made size below. If all 3 measurements fit within one size range, you can be confident that it is the right size for you.

Step 2 - Cross-check “standard” sizes
Disclaimer: Numeric and Alpha sizes can be used as guide to help choose between sizes after you’ve measured your body. It may help guide you, based on clothes you already own, but industry sizing has no standard.
Without measuring first, there is a chance you may order the wrong size, so please reach out if you need help. Alpha sizing shown is approximate, based on both women's, mens and unisex size research.
TLDR; Measuring your body is more accurate than choosing a size without measuring.
Step 3 - Check the Product Measurements
Each product page has measurements of the actual garment laid flat. This is a great way to check against something you already own to make sure you’re ordering the right size or to help you choose between two sizes.

Description
The Bow Dress in Pastel Gingham evolved from the idea that swing dresses are really fun, but sometimes adding a bit of shaping is even more fun. A dress that changes silhouette and can be worn a few different ways.
- Tie the bows individually, as a decorative detail, and keep the silhouette swinging
- Join the front and back bows in singles or doubles, or even criss-cross - create a more cinched upper body
- Let the ties hang for an avant-garde mood
- Round neckline (but not too high on the neck) with internal bind finish
- Armhole size has been carefully tested on different arms
- Princess seam panels create a swinging A-line silhouette
- Generous side seam pockets
- Midi length - see model info to compare length on different heights
- Designed in Australia
- Ethically made in China in a small batch

Product Measurements
This A-line midi dress suits many body shapes. It can be worn with a floaty swing silhouette with ties loose or in separate bows, and is designed to be looser on the body. It can be cinched at the side of the chest to pull in the silhouette a little, joining the front and back ties in double or single bows.

My goal is to have a couple of clothing collections a year, really leaning into slow fashion. Based on polls on our Instagram stories, there will be many more tops, pants and dresses on the way! Feel free to reach out directly if there is something you are struggling to find in the fun, ethical fashion space.
The first collection of robes was made in Bangladesh, with a supplier I vetted 3+ years ago who focus on ethical manufacturing and are experts at sourcing/creating fabrics that don't contain synthetics. Their workmanship is impeccable and I'm so proud to have worked with them.
For the clothing collections, the supplier base has expanded to other parts of Asia and country of origin is listed on each product page.
Over my 15+ years working in the fashion industry, I have learnt which countries specialise in certain fabrics, printing techniques, construction details and hand-work. I always want to make sure I put the right products with the right supplier to achieve the highest quality product.
Small-batch production runs mean significantly smaller units per style and per size, compared with larger brands and retailers.
Typical brands that have stores across Australia as well as an online presence could be producing anywhere from 3,000-30,000 units of a single style. Some could be even higher.
This is how some brand's prices can be so low (amongst other tactics), but some brands also keep their prices high and produce this volume.
Small-batch could be 20 units, 50 units or anywhere in the hundreds, because it's still small and considered, compared to these larger brands.
TLDR; We make a very small amount per style/size so as not to overproduce, and make sure all our products have a home to go to.
If you like it, wear it. It's that simple.
All Patience Made products have been designed with multiple body shapes and sizes in mind, and this includes all genders. They have not been designed just for an hourglass woman's body, nor have they been designed for one set of proportions.
I truly believe anyone can wear the clothes, I fit them on different genders and have made an effort to showcase the collection on different genders.
